The Subtle art.
Inventory management is a huge part of the tarkov closed beta, while we are waiting for the deployment of the hideouts patch and expandable custom stashes we are stuck with what ever package we have purchased.
So let's get down to it. How can you maximise the space you have?
There are few items in the game that allow you to store more space than they take up.
These three items are the most efficient way but all have their restrictions on what you can store in them.
Documents case: takes 2x1 space in your inventory but stores 4x4 spaces worth of keys. You may be able to put money and such in here but I am at present unable to confirm this.
Wallet: This is a single square item that allows 2x2 storage for money only.
Pistol Case: takes up 2x2 space but stores 3x3. As the name suggests the only thing you can store in here is pistols. At present all pistols are 2x1 so you can fit 4 with 1 space left over.
Each of these three items allows you to store at least 100% for their size. But are very restricted in what you can place in them. They also tend to be prohibitively rare or expensive in the current state of the market.
The last item in this list is by far the most common but is also the least efficient and that is the tactical rig. More specifically the AVS and Blackrock. Each holds 10 spaces but takes up 9 slots. The restriction is 4 4x1s and 2 single slot items. While it's only a small gain it is a gain for storing trade items like gold chains and gas filters.
So how else can we save space in Tarkov at present?
A few tips for you that I've found helpful in my time in tarkov.
• If you can buy it cheaply and easily don't store it. Things like ammo, scav vests, magazines for AK weapons and generic food items.
• attachments can be made smaller by combining them. Take the silco silencer and threaded mount. Separately they take up 3 spaces but combined take up only 1. Making them the smallest silencer in the game.
